New young fathers research

I’m delighted to say that I have been invited to conduct an evaluation of the ‘North East Dads and Lads project’. This project is a new initiative in the North East, which has built on previous work with young fathers which was occurring in this area under the remit of the Young Women’s Outreach Project .The three year project will work with young men who are fathers to improve their wellbeing, relationships, skills and qualifications and is being funded by the Esmée Fairburn Foundation.

As a passionate advocate of young families being well supported, I am delighted to be working with the North East Dads and Lads project, and its fantastic to see more work with fathers being funded and rolled out in other parts of the UK.

For anyone interested in my previous research around young fathers, the report of the recently completed ‘Supporting Young Dads project’ is available here: SYD Report
