As part of this years ESRC Festival of Social Science I am delighted to be hosting an event to see dads differently. The day will include fun and activities for all the family, and a chance to celebrate dads and families.
The event is taking place at Broadcasting Place at Leeds Beckett University (the rusty building!) on Saturday 12th November from 10a.m-4p.m.
During the day we will be showcasing recent research about men as fathers, including about young dads, men as positive role models, examples of initiatives to support men and fathers, and much more! You can find out more about the research we do, and join in with the fun family activities we have planned.
We will have the Leeds City Council Libraries team joining us from 10-2 with their Lego club and other fun activities (plus you can join the library on the day if you are not already a member!).
The event will have a holiday theme (because summer feels like a long time away now), there will be giant games, arts and crafts, and a chance for children to take part in our junior researchers activities.
The poster for the event is available here: Celebrating Dads Day
A map of Leeds Beckett University is available here, the nearest carpark is Woodhouse Lane.
Hope to see you there!!
