About

I am a researcher at Leeds Beckett University in the Centre for Health Promotion Research (part of the School of Health and Community Studies). A sociologist by background, I work on a variety of research projects exploring gendered aspects of health, with a specialism in qualitative research. My main research interests encompass Men as Fathers and Men’s experiences of Reproduction. Recent projects include: An exploration of community groups for young men who are fathers; Health and wellbeing within the construction industry; Men’s experiences of emotions and help-seeking for infertility. I also teach Social Science for Nutritionists and help deliver community learning courses for Health & Social Sciences.

This blog is a space to share thoughts about academia from an early career research perspective, my work with community partners and the third sector, research projects, thought pieces as well as anything else that captures my imagination!
